Fortis Group performed the major interior and exterior fit-up for a new Scaddabush Italian Eatery located at Simcoe place in downtown Toronto. Planning and coordinating logistics was essential during this project, due to its location in Toronto’s bustling downtown core.

One block away from Union Station and just north of the Union-Pearson UP Express train, Scaddabush is steps away from the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the Rogers Centre, and just south of Toronto’s Theatre District on King Street —making it a social hub for sports fans, music and theatre aficionados, locals, and commuters alike.

This project required blending the natural surroundings of a vineyard with modern structures, which can provide challenges in a traditional construction process.

The project consisted of building a new 18,000 sq. ft structure with a fully-equipped kitchen for banquet facilities, a wine tasting bar, and an outdoor seating area for guests and concert events.

This unique building incorporated a variety of structural components such as; structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, hollow-core concrete and cross-laminated timber panels. The result is a remarkable, award-winnning restaurant and wine tasting facility.
