Fortis Group spearheaded the complete redevelopment of a former Sears store, an ambitious endeavour marked by meticulous precision and a commitment to transformation.
The project encompassed a dual-pronged approach: total interior demolition and the careful removal of the exterior façade—an intricate task involving significant type 3 asbestos abatement. Notably, a partial building addition extended the footprint, introducing new retail space that seamlessly integrated with the existing structure.
Comprising two stories above ground and an additional level below grade, the facility spans a sprawling 200,000 sq. ft. Its versatile configuration embraces fresh concepts—a blend of new mall areas, an array of retail stores, and dedicated institutional spaces. Among the notable fit-outs were those for Trillium College and SportChek, each tailored to their unique needs.
