This fully inclusive 136,000 sq. ft Design Build LEED Silver building features two NHL-sized ice pads, a mini practice ice pad, an indoor soccer field with walking track, seating for over 1,000 spectators, Canada’s first Miracle League Baseball diamond, fully lit artificial turf Premier Baseball diamond, fully lit artificial turf CFL/FIFA sized field, as well as community rooms and a field house.

Fortis self-performed all site servicing, concrete and concrete formwork, masonry, millwork, and miscellaneous carpentry. This unique project required many specialty-deliverables such as; the artificial turf fields, the arena’s Ice Kube refrigeration systems, custom controls and building automation, and complex mechanical and electrical systems.

This truly inclusive design, led by Fortis’ inclusive consultant, ensured all areas and functions of the building were able to be used by all. Key features included, sledge hockey provisions, enlarged doorways and spacious change rooms, all flush transitions to navigate the entire property, and Miracle League baseball diamond. 

As a design build project, this entire process from award to completion was delivered within 14 months.
