A construction management project consisting of a five-story, 47,000 sq. ft addition to an existing operational retirement home. The addition included a new main dining room, café, lounge, new elevators, and extensive renovations to the existing building common area and main commercial kitchen.
Exterior work included a new parking lot and landscaping, and new main electrical service all completed within the tightly confined site. All construction areas were sectioned off on a daily basis and completed incrementally to reduce any disturbance to the residents and staff.
The main commercial kitchen was completely renovated, and a temporary kitchen trailer was set up with all services and temporary corridors to maintain the food service for residents. Fortis Group successfully delivered the project with minimal disruptions allowing the retirement home to remain fully operational to residents throughout the duration of the project.
