Fortis Group spearheaded the complete redevelopment of a former Sears store, an ambitious endeavour marked by meticulous precision and a commitment to transformation.
The project encompassed a dual-pronged approach: total interior demolition and the careful removal of the exterior façade—an intricate task involving significant type 3 asbestos abatement. Notably, a partial building addition extended the footprint, introducing new retail space that seamlessly integrated with the existing structure.
Comprising two stories above ground and an additional level below grade, the facility spans a sprawling 200,000 sq. ft. Its versatile configuration embraces fresh concepts—a blend of new mall areas, an array of retail stores, and dedicated institutional spaces. Among the notable fit-outs were those for Trillium College and SportChek, each tailored to their unique needs.
A hallmark of this redevelopment was our unwavering commitment to operational continuity. Meticulous coordination with the client ensured seamless interior mall operations and unhindered exterior pedestrian flow and parking. Fortis Group’s imprint on this venture is one of precision, innovation, and the seamless fusion of vision and execution—a hallmark of our commitment to excellence.
