The start of the year may have brought some undesirable weather – but things were heating up at Fortis Group! From topping off at the Hyde Park Village to starting another project with multinational leader IKEA, it’s been a busy and productive winter season. We’re excited to share all the details with all of you, so let’s dive in and see what we’ve been up to!

Greater Essex County District School Board

Raising the Last Steel Beam at Kingsville K-12 School Site

One of the events we had the privilege of hosting was the raising of the last steel beam at the GECDSB K-12 school site in Kingsville. This momentous occasion was a true testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire project team. We were proud to celebrate alongside enthusiastic future students, dedicated faculty members, Architecttura Inc., supportive board members, and forward-thinking town councilors.

With the raising of the last steel beam, we’re one step closer to providing the students of our community with a state-of-the-art educational facility that will shape their future for years to come. We’re grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such an exciting project and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Sign Unveiling at Future North Shore Elementary School

Another event we recently participated in was the sign unveiling at the future North Shore Elementary School in Tecumseh. Joined by GECDSB faculty, JP Thompson Architect team members, and students, we celebrated the progress made on the project so far. It was an exciting opportunity to showcase our work and break ground on the project.

We take great pride in our work with the GECDSB and are committed to delivering top-quality results on all of our projects. These events have reminded us of the positive impact our work has on the community and the students who will benefit from these projects. We look forward to continuing our work with the GECDSB and making a difference in the lives of students in our community.

Fortis Group Announces New Project with IKEA

Fortis Group is proud to once again work with the multinational corporation IKEA on a new exciting project. The major renovation includes a partial conversion of the underground parking garage into a new home delivery warehouse, complete with new loading docks and two freight elevators. The renovation will also include complete sprinkler system upgrades to the existing warehouse and the installation of EV charging stations.

We’re thrilled to be involved in this project and to work with the global reaching brand. The new home delivery warehouse will significantly add to the IKEA brand, providing customers with a streamlined and efficient delivery experience. The installation of EV charging stations also highlights the brand’s commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.

Hyde Park Village Tops Off!

What better way to start the new year than by topping off our impressive Hyde Park Village project in London, Ontario. The 8-storey residential building, complete with 144 luxury apartments, a 10,000 sq. ft. retail space, and a rooftop terrace with 360° views, has reached a major milestone in its development process.

At Fortis Group, we’re proud to have achieved this significant milestone and our progress on this exciting project. Our team has worked tirelessly to bring this impressive mixed-use development to life, combining masonry and metal stud bearing with pre-cast floors and roof and EIFS and aluminum composite panel cladding.

We can’t wait to welcome future residents to this exciting development, complete with an 82-vehicle underground parking garage to service the massive development.

Teaming up with GIP & MTO for an Exciting New Project!

We’re thrilled to partner once again with GIP and MTO for another exciting provincial project – the construction of a new MTO Truck Inspection Station (TIS) building!

The new building will include:

  • General office area.
  • Meeting rooms.
  • Driver interview rooms.
  • Staff break room.
  • Washroom facilities complete with showers and locker room.

With a focus on functionality and design, the building’s exterior features will include large curtainwall glazing and a complete stone and brick façade.

We’re proud to be part of a project that will help ensure the safety and efficiency of our province’s trucking industry. Our team is excited to take on this new challenge, and we’re committed to delivering a state-of-the-art facility that meets the needs of the MTO and the industry it serves.

Proudly Sponsoring the OUA Track & Field Championships

Fortis Group was delighted to be a sponsor of the OUA Track & Field Championship at the University of Windsor in February. Our President, Max De Angelis, was honoured to take part in the medal presentation for these incredible athletes. This exciting event brought together some of the most talented athletes in Ontario and provided an opportunity for them to showcase their skills and compete against the best of the best.

We are proud to continue our partnership with the University of Windsor and support Preeminent University Sport Conference in Canada.
